Coats, Checkers, and See through shoe heels

I treasure looking through each collection to find that one item that makes the difference in my life and others, this year some of these items are among them
Marc by Marc Jacobs gives this look each year yet we have Goggle glasses & dark socks and she is thrilled beyond belief to be carrying a gold bag

I forgive Marc for all his indiscretions with this Rhapsody & French Roast (lavender & brown) checkered coat dress with what look like her Docs and a part smile

Cushnie et Ochs had a streamlined hat loving show and the coats just melted with the models and dresses
Kelly Wearstler in a most fabulous black & white checkered trench coat for me, Pippa & Gwen Stefani this coat screams for L.A.M.B

Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall RTW 2012 Collection looks like Karl Marx & a Train Conductor but at least they are warm & comfortable & I love gray

Marc by Marc Jacobs mens coats looked plush & I love their coats being a giant. The sleeves are long enough to cover my wrist & I look dainty & small

A trinity of love here, we have the golden jacket Jason isn't looking for & underneath a polka dotted dress in metallic thread & socks with boots

I have never thought of belting a coat, how genius to create your own proportions and a full skirt double layered with boots & socks love the hat as well

Pixie hair, glasses big enough to consider them goggles, the belted coat (my new give it a try) create the geek chic

Banana Republic's cheetah trench coat a staple a classic in most cases and worn lots of times by itself however in this case she has a dress on underneath (only in the movies right?)

There has to be a tangerine coat. Pantone's color of the year

Marc didn't make a gold trench for women so I am getting the gold one for men!

Cushnie et Ochs also had these sweater coats with asymmetrical lines, patterns so subtle and creative one would just think from a far they were gradiention of color
Rag and Bone mixed it up with blankets, shawls, and wraps giving it a middle eastern vibe with a color palette close to the Olympian blue and whites
Susie of the Style Bubble gave us a quick pre look before coming to the shows love the shoes
And her she is in the same fab shoes think Docs patent leather white, x accents sparely on the leather and see through heels they are a grand express of I don't care if I scratch them they must be see! To Susie!

Fashion Week Has Commenced let us all see what their thinking

Christian Louboutin's 20th anniversary collection

Sheer velvet red peep toe boots, I imagine Alexander McQueen dress with a hem tail so that the boots get some of the attention. McQueen was always a stealer of news.

Louboutin renders the trend of bright & florals with a black suede piping to accentuate the large plume

I fell in love with neon yellow last year,  next to dark gray.Their symmetry, the compliment of a neon against a neutral, (gray took over black) in small proportions made a world of difference. Again the black piping to celebrate the flower a perfect match

Bows are universally loved by most women I know and 1000's I don't know. If I look at my virtual closet, Fashiolista, there is a bow in the top ten items. I loved the bow's of the early 1900's on girls, were it was on top of her head & mostly bigger

This shoe feels like a ode to Rodarte.
the spikes, the barbs walking in them every so hard
the note, the saying, don't come near me I ain't playing
my shoes reflect the one in in these, shiny, protective, what a big heel
to have them, love them always skipping the meal
in the public ring, these shoes are art, they changed the way feet can tear you apart.
Beautiful rose gold, studs & straps forever, textures, sparkles they give all such pleasure

Never thought I would succumb to see through shoes, Prada gave us heels and then shoes. When worn the invisible falls away to the sparkling feet subtle at play
Dangling earrings are a big must this year,

More dangling I am currently looking for the maker

Berlin Fashion Week, so into those short short shorts

these are the 3D prints everyone has been talking about

a little more grey and neon yellow from Ulyana

Flamingo fashion week didn't even know they had one

love the shoe but the color is what I am gone to talk about, it is in every collection I have seen at NY Fashion week so far, this color and the palette that would compliment it is everywhere

Hearts are the BIG deal as well, Britney, Gwen and more celebs have been seen wearing hearts galore

Jakarta Fashion Week a big version of the baby doll dress supersized

Jakarta fashion week color bright color all over the world

A LIFE IN FASHION PANEL

High School Student's Listen to Designers, Stylist, Bloggers, and Editors
Fashion Week Starts February 9th
“Basically, just go out and buy yourself a big old horseshoe and carry it in your back pocket,” said the 69-year-old designer. “Most of my life is a lot of luck, crazy luck.”

The very interested and colorfully dressed audience listened to every word of the Designer Panel, looking for ways of getting their foot in somewhere in the Fashion Industry.“She’s so cool, she’s so ridiculous,” said one enraptured student, recording the panel on her cell phone. "I want to be the next her."

Panelist and stylist Derek Warburton also spoke about how much he struggled through his early career in the fashion world.
“I’m you, just a few years later,” he said. “I fought, I dug, I did everything I had to do to get here. It’s just so much work.”

"But not everyone at the panel had a long, storied legacy in the fashion world. One panelist, Leandra Medine, only graduated from the New School in May. Her blog, The Man Repeller  http://www.manrepeller.com/catalogues fashion that women love but men hate."

“I’m sitting on 2 million views a month," she said. "The only thing I can tell you is that if you have an idea, buy that 10 dollar URL and run with it.”
"Grace Coddington by Mr. Newton. File this one under things that stimulate a subconscious strive toward red hair, everywhere. Re: post title, see here. "From The Man Repeller an amazingly insightful blog.

"On the other end of the table, Johnson encouraged the audience to move online with their ideas for style and fashion.
“I know the importance of the blogging and the twittering — to me it’s the most important part of the company” Johnson said."

Iro Red Agnette Jacket for women

I see this jacket and wish with all my Genie Powers that it would show up in my closet. It is one of the most beautiful garments I've ever seen.

I wanted to show what I can see, the little imperfection, balanced innately by design, the zippers give it such a personality, and a powerful color that commands the room. It's no wonder Nancy Reagan wore so much red.

Style Bubble, Cousin IT, Dagmar & Gilets

Style bubble is one of the reasons I started blogging. She is everything I could ever want to be. Cool and not cool about it. Shows me fashion, non mainstream designers & she is a fabulous writer. She should write a book. One of my most favorite parts of her blog is her putting the clothes on giving us a fashion show. A progression of pageantry fashion lovers  find sumptuous. Most importantly I learn from the balance she lends to her garments, what goes here, how you wear this, she is a great teacher. Here is her delightful take on the Dagmar show A/W 12-3.

" Look!  I'm gesticulating wildly in happy boppy presenter mode in the video above and giving off super cheesy grins whilst talking to the Dagmar girls about their A/W 12-3 collection!  To be fair, all the ingredients were there - a few Absolut Vodka drinks which were named Absolut Dagmar for the night, a random sighting of director Spike Lee who was weirdly at the show and a collection that nearly led me to rip a shaggy knee length waistcoat off
>> Look!  I'm gesticulating wildly in happy boppy presenter mode in the video above and giving off super cheesy grins whilst talking to the Dagmar girls about their A/W 12-3 collection!  To be fair, all the ingredients were there - a few Absolut Vodka drinks which were named Absolut Dagmar for the night, a random sighting of director Spike Lee who was weirdly at the show and a collection that nearly led me to rip a shaggy knee length waistcoat off Frida Gustavsson in the opening look.  Ok, there was a minor hiccup where Hilary Alexander started coughing violently besides me and I promptly gave her a really weak back slap to try and ease the choking but didn't help her at all.  Yup, just a teensy tiny hiccup there.
I digress.  Hilary did recover enough to watch the show and give her approval of the collection.  There's not much not to like.  Dagmar do knits and do them well and without delving too much into concept and thematic machinations, they consistently turn out knit pieces that feel one-off without compromising wearability as they admittedly stick to some easy going shapes.  It's their selection of yarns and mixing up the gauge of the knits that really works for them.  Yeti knits, mohair stripes, deco lace patterns and chunky aran complete the spectrum of knits that range from fine and delicate to chunky and protective.  On the non-knit front, I liked the proposition of a luxurious knitted shawl over silk pyjamas.  Curiously, a cut-out leather top made an appearance, which stood out like a sore thumb.  It was like a sole act of rebellion that probably propped up showmanship rather than serve any real purpose.  The simplistic bottom line is, it is about those knits.  Or namely, Frida G's choice opening look.  I never thought I'd be a furry gilet type of person.  Or in fact, a gilet person period.  Now I can't stop thinking about one that is almost floor length and almost engulfs the body cousin IT style. "

This tangerine color along with the light chocolate milk color are the same intensity in the color world meaning their brightness is at the same levels and if you blurred your eyes at it the boundaries would merge. Vibrating boundaries are the Neon Yellow against a Dark Gray.

I have a sweater I bought in Edinburgh Scotland at this shop run by a husband & wife for 47 years. The shop itself was a find. Brass handles, old mahogany  shelves, lights that were there from 1902. It had the feel of master crafting in the pieces and I bought so many items I had to buy a duffel bag just to get them home. This knit reminds me of that shop and the handmade knits.
This feels sporty with the stripes, and zipper in front like a Eskimo's Hockey Jacket, I love it. Classic
a Fetching Flock if I ever saw one, the neckline and how the knit lays on the body, simple, eye catchings and the color again is staying quiet yet it's the colors of spring only subtle and shy.
I wanted to show this knit just to let you see the diversity in which they use their materials. I am a huge fan of Rodarte, and can't help but think their knits from 2 years back had something to do with the execution of the garment and it's fuzzy parts, and feel.
Orange has captured the year in color. Pantone names Tangerine Tango the color of the year so orange is a big deal. I love the use of it here as the accent color down playing it's trendyness. I look at the neckline, the coat and it's details, the pattern, all rich with texture & stripes. Put the kitchen sink in there.
A knit black bodysuit with patterns running down then sashaying, moving in a hypnotic flow, all the material, all the loveliness of the way it makes you feel imagining wearing it with heels, a great cropped coat (black) and a cuff of equal naturally beauty. This is not for a wallflower.
Cream colored sweater mini dress, how warm, sexy, very versatile & so needed in my wardrobe I am crazy for this because how many pieces can it be. Jeans with heels, worn only with ankle boots, layer it on top of another dress, zebra pattern, color you love, I would put turquoise or the new dark blue, tights with booties, wedges, flats. Worn alone with cream killer heels like Brian Atwoods new booties with studs. Hair up, dangle earrings and everyone will wish they were you or your closet.
Color is playing a huge role in fashion this season all of the colors. On this knit you see turquoise, cream, grey, maybe yellow, and the fuzzy brown texture delight (sounds like a fashion dessert)subtle and not over powering the hand work just accenting it.
I wish I could see the full silhouette. I love the design with the breaks in pattern, bold black lines, it also belongs in my closet.

Layering as come such a long way, it's changed the way people think about dressing & it's changed the way designers design. This is a simple example of that theory. The piece over her shoulders, a shawl type piece yet not at all, it doesn't have a name I know however it changes the silhouette, in a good and interesting way.

The Style Bubble taught me more today, the super uber color machine can be tamed. Using them quietly with textures & design, the silhouette so fresh familiar yet very new. As Susie said she never saw herself as a Gilet person, in fashion you never know what is going to strike you. It's a never ending story and how lucky we are to have so much talent to love.
