"Endorphins ("endogenous morphine") are
endogenous opioid peptides that function as
neurotransmitters.

pituitary gland and the
hypothalamus in
vertebrates during
exercise,

pain,
consumption of spicy food,
love and
orgasm,

opiates in their abilities to produce
analgesia and a feeling of well-being.
