Trying new things

It's easy to get behind in my reading during fashion month. Recently I found myself staying up all night until 7am, reading about fashion, catching up on Style Bubble. Style Bubble is one of my favorite blogs.  She puts outfits together that make sense and have balance. In one post, she was wearing a monochromatic blue ensemble and on her feet were thick cashmere socks from Topshop and these amazing otherworldly shoes from Heavy Machine.

"The brand Heavy Machine was established by Sunshine Co. Ltd, to fulfill the dream of a new generation; founded in 1989 located in Taipei, Taiwan. For the past 20 years Sunshine Co. Ltd has been designing clothes for men and women, and in 2007 they decided to expand their business into shoe design, creating the new label, ‘Heavy Machine’." They saw something missing in the shoe market and now are sold all over the world. When I started becoming interested in shoes, my vision of what shoes should look like was limited by brands like Prada, Gucci, and Calvin Klein. I wasn't looking around. After Balenciaga, I was exposed to Ld Tuttle, a shoe designer who has a heel and a form she plays with in each of her collections. The one directly above with the light blue material is my favorite. I can't remember it's name and it's long worn off. It was sold at Urban Outfitters last summer and I spied them being worn by Whitney Port on the tv show "the City" also. Not to mention the numerous little starlets caught sporting them in the tabs. They were a bargain too! This last shoe is from Ld Tuttle's new collection; it reminds me a little of Prada's collection with the satin pink fabric:

Probably because of the wedge heel. Oh Well I love shoes, so here are a couple more Heavy Machine Beauties:
