The Road to go the shoes to wear
I see the new Prada Spring/Summer shoe collection and go a little crazy. Which one pair don't I want. I love checkers, patterns, mixing, color just pure unbelievable shoes. I see those patterns in my sleep but have a shoe wedge with a print. Ouch Ouch Ouch. These are beautiful and functional, make a white dress dreamy with the accent of oddity. I would kill myself with the height, at 6ft. However just to look at them would be fine as well. I know there are people to help style and put fabrics, patterns, that sort of thing in front but these creations are the product of seeing the future with a lushness history of our past.

Trying new things
It's easy to get behind in my reading during fashion month. Recently I found myself staying up all night until 7am, reading about fashion, catching up on Style Bubble. Style Bubble is one of my favorite blogs. She puts outfits together that make sense and have balance. In one post, she was wearing a monochromatic blue ensemble and on her feet were thick cashmere socks from Topshop and these amazing otherworldly shoes from Heavy Machine.
"The brand Heavy Machine was established by Sunshine Co. Ltd, to fulfill the dream of a new generation; founded in 1989 located in Taipei, Taiwan. For the past 20 years Sunshine Co. Ltd has been designing clothes for men and women, and in 2007 they decided to expand their business into shoe design, creating the new label, ‘Heavy Machine’." They saw something missing in the shoe market and now are sold all over the world. When I started becoming interested in shoes, my vision of what shoes should look like was limited by brands like Prada, Gucci, and Calvin Klein. I wasn't looking around. Then I saw one of the Olsen Twins wearing Balenciaga boots and something changed in me.
"Balenciaga is now owned by the Gucci Group (part of PPR), and its womenswear and menswear is headed by Nicolas Ghesquière.[7]Jean-Paul Gaultier and Agnes B. The hip, fresh interpretation of Balenciaga classics, such as the semifitted jacket and the sack dress, caught the attention of the media as well as such celebrities as Madonna and Sinéad O'Connor.[6]" Ghesquière, like Balenciaga, is a self-taught designer, and apprenticed to

After Balenciaga, I was exposed to Ld Tuttle, a shoe designer who has a heel and a form she plays with in each of her collections. The one directly above with the light blue material is my favorite. I can't remember it's name and it's long worn off. It was sold at Urban Outfitters last summer and I spied them being worn by Whitney Port on the tv show "the City" also. Not to mention the numerous little starlets caught sporting them in the tabs. They were a bargain too! This last shoe is from Ld Tuttle's new collection; it reminds me a little of Prada's collection with the satin pink fabric:
Probably because of the wedge heel. Oh Well I love shoes, so here are a couple more Heavy Machine Beauties:
New York's Magazine "The Cut" has a bio on Heavy Machine if you're interested:

Irony in fashion
Ricky Powell 7
I have never been a label freak. In fact when there is one I try to take it off. I don't know why, I just don't like labels or logo's on my purchased clothing. However when I saw this picture at Trend hunter under Funky town Photo's I changed my mind. The car is obviously an old one and the painting of VL with her little stars is hilarious. So many of us, me included, grew up wanting things, me clothes, and not being able to afford them. So you get a car, a not so nice car and label it literally. Classy, trashy, and kind of genius in making it a statement of sorts about what is important and been classy and having class or living in high class. It could go on forever.
