Holes in the creative universe

Badboy genius Alexander Lee McQueen
This is  a series of events  happened to me making life almost acceptably explained. Last February I woke up, read that Alexander McQueen committed suicide. I had known his ,other, whom he was very close w/ died of cancer, 2 months before. Isabella Blow another one of his supports had committed suicide a year earlier. Never having met any of these people I cried.  I had feverishly bought his McQ collection from Target a year or so ago. I sat there and just cried. Such a shame, a man so brilliant, precise, eager to evolve had suffered depression couldn't take it and moved on.  I had recently lost my 15 year old Black Labrador,  Beetle, my BFF whom always comforted me he time had come.. It's not ironic that Alexander McQueen left his fortune to his 2 dogs. How could I not love the man. I was relieved when Daphne Guinness bought Isabella Blow's clothing collection so that it would not be without it's friends. A minor victory in the passing of these lives. The "Savage Beauty" Installation Collection at the Met this summer, attendance record broke, man from Iowa just wanted to see what all the fuss was about. The  last 2 days the Museum open until midnight, visitors were wrapped around the build, in the cool summer evening. It  would have pleased the designer. Eric Wilson of the New York Times quoted," Ms. Verkade said he (Alexander) often complained that, season after season, he was showing his clothes to the same 700 editors, clients and buyers." Wilson continues to tell us McQueen was the only designer to put his show on a website for the masses. The demand was so high it crashed the site. This would have made Mr. McQueen thrilled to reach mainstream, and unforgettably he got this wish in death
Mr. Wilson, chatted with a with a 15yr whom thought "McQueen is a household name" I wish. His is now. I wrote about him as a Picasso. A genius way too young to leave us behind. His brilliance, tortured mind, crazy precise beauty of ideas. Amy Winehouse's writing & voice, also her own fashion icon to many.

Amy Winehouse's writing & voice, also her own fashion icon to many, she just died of an overdose. The 27 club. Only 2 albums. I knew her through music. Bless her heart. So talented and lovely from what the articles say. Loved baking, giving, making people happy, wasn't enough.  We'll never heard her sing the songs of her changing life, and McQueen's edge will never grace our runways.
